Almost immediately, she was
re-adopted out to a family that
failed to mention that they had
Chihuahuas. Stormy bit one of
the Chihuahuas when it jumped
on her while she was being
petted by her new owner. As a
testiment to Stormy's good
nature, the Chihuahua was not
seriously injured.
Stormy was taken into the AMAL
Disaster Program through LAMP on
April 26th. She is fully vetted and on
heartworm preventative. She is a
very sweet, laid-back girl, and a true
MAP (Malamute American Princess).
Half of her pedigree consists of known
show dogs. So far, she has shown
absolutely no "resource guarding"
issues, and would probably be suitable
to homes with children aged 6 and
above. However, Stormy definitely
needs to be an "only child" (i.e., no
other pets).
In summary, Stormy is an absolutely
goergeous girl who talks, loves
attention, seems to love children, and
will make a great companion.
Stormy was turned in to a local
animal shelter by her family in
January of 2006. They had lost
their home on the north shore of
Lake Pontchartrain and were living
in their car.
She was promptly adopted out to a
family, but turned in three months
later because she refused to be a
yard dog. She would stand at the
back door and scream.
