| winsome, and overall delightful! But, they are not a dog for everyone. They dig, eat landscape plants and everything else, climb fences, hold "concerts," attack cats and other small animals, and have a penchant for escaping and going on long, often one-way treks. Unfortunately, here in Louisiana, there are more people who think they want a Sibe, than there are people who actually know how to live with a Sibe. There are far more breeders" of Sibes than there are people who are suitable to own them. Consequently, on any given day, one will find one or more Siberians in numerous kill shelters, and there are only a very few individuals willing or able to rescue them. Therefore, these beautiful dogs are destroyed. LSDR is too small a group with esources too limited to keep up with the number of doomed Siberians. We desperately need others to serve as fosters, and most of all, we desperately plea to all would be breeders, PLEASE DON'T! It doesn't matter that your dogs are pure-bred, AKC registered, or champion bloodlines. Some of their progeny will probably end up in the gas chamber of some Louisiana shelter. |
